Bishop C.T. Wells, MA, D.Min.
Dr. C.T. Wells is the Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Church, a vibrant and expanding community with deep roots in the city of Portland, Oregon. A visionary leader and a passionate nurturer, Dr. Wells strives to shape Emmanuel's every message and ministry around the conviction that each believer is to become a conqueror in every aspect of life, given that “God's divine power has given unto us all things necessary for life and godliness.” For Dr. Wells, everything at Emmanuel – from its recently constructed facility to its wide ranging programs and ministries – exists to grow mature, flourishing, and conquering people.
Dr. Wells holds a Masters of Arts in Christian Ministries from George Fox University and a Doctorate in Divinity from Friends International University. He has been married to the love of his life, First Lady DeAngeloa, for over 28 years. They are the proud parents of Chastity and Ashlei Wells, who are both successfully involved in business and education.
First Lady DeAngeloa Wells
First Lady DeAngeloa Wells serves alongside her husband as co-pastor. She oversees Emmanuel’s Church Characteristics Value Ministries. Gifted in administration, with a strong background in organizational development, she focuses on defining strategies, processes, and tools that will strengthen Emmanuel's community and ministries. Passionate about seeing the kingdom come in Portland at large, she annually hosts city-wide conferences and events that minister to the unique needs of women, while encouraging them to become the person that God intends them to be.
With a B.S. in Business Management and years of experience as a General Manager with Portland General Electric. First Lady Wells serves with well-tested skills and a passion to worship through giving God her best.
Pastor Franklin & Elder Barbara Alvey
Pastor Franklin A. Alvey serves as on-site mentor in Emmanuel’s partnership with Hope International University’s School of Advanced Leadership Training (SALT). He oversees Emmanuel’s Biblical Principles and Leadership Value Ministries. With a Bachelors of Theology, a Masters in Communication, a Doctorate in Economics and a Doctorate in Theology, Pastor Alvey serves as leader for Emmanuel’s Biblical Principles and Leadership Value Ministries and is uniquely equipped to help raise up and train future leaders for the church.
Pastor Alvey has been married to Evangelist Barbara Alvey for over 53 years. A woman of prayer, Evangelist Alvey taught youth Sunday School at Emmanuel for years and also has extensive experience working with Campus Crusade for Christ and Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship.
Pastor and Evangelist Alvey are the proud parents of 2 children and they have 5 grandchildren.
Pastor Mark & Elder Jeanette Tellis
Pastor Mark Tellis was called to the ministry in his early twenties and received his ordination in 1990 through the Church of God in Christ. He is an anointed and a gifted teacher and preacher, as well as an accomplished instructor in Christian Education and Ministerial Training. He also holds an associate degree in Theology from A.L. Hardy School of Theology. Pastor Tellis oversees Emmanuel’s Evangelism and Generations Value Ministries. Blessed with a number of technical skills, he helps direct many of Emmanuel's technical operations, including photography, video, projection and sound.
Pastor Tellis is married to Lady Jeanette Tellis who received her ordination in 2007. She is blessed with a powerful gifting of discernment and encouragement. Besides her leadership, service, and speaking at events/retreats, Lady Tellis currently serves on the Ordination Board of Emmanuel Church.
Pastor and Lady Tellis are the parents of 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Pastor April & Deacon Rickey Murchinson
Pastor April Murchinson received her ordination in June 2011. She currently oversees Emmanuel’s Community and Culture Values, in which she works with relentless enthusiasm and compassion to help protect and cultivate an irresistible Spirit-led atmosphere. She is employed by The Port of Portland and volunteers as a mentor for young children in the Port Pals Program and at the Portland Police Bureau as a Crisis Responder and Bereavement Consultant.
She is married to Deacon Rickey Murchinson, who holds a B.S. in Business Management and is a retired SMSgt from the United States Air Force. Deacon Rickey is the Chairman of Emmanuel’s Trustee Board, an Adjutant to Dr. C. T. Wells, and a leader in the men's ministry: Iron Sharpens Iron (“ISI”).
Pastor and Deacon Murchinson are the proud parents of two children (Kenneth & Jamelah) and one grandchild (Harmony).
